SUNRISE WITH MOM
Back in November 2019, I had a dream in which my mom, who had died the year before, came up to me and said with immense delight, “Kitty!” I was so surprised to see her, I asked the obvious, “Mom, what are you doing here?” She smiled, looked up to the sky and said, “I come to see the clouds every morning.”
And then…I woke-up into that liminal space before dawn when dreams can seem like reality. I felt so whole and full and loved. An hour later, camera in hand, I drove out to the Yolo Bypass and joined Mom in watching the sun rise over the wetlands.
